She is passionate about Immuno-Oncology drug development, founding and building innovative startups, and helping shape the future of human health. Prior to Xios, Ezzeddine was the co-founder and CEO of HydroSpine, a hydrogel liquid that is injected in the spine to reconstruct it, the Head of Business Development at Archemix Corp, and a Senior Business Advisor at X-Body.

Fadel Adib, PhD.

Fadel Adib is an Assistant Professor at MIT and the founding director of the Signal Kinetics research group at the MIT Media Lab. His research group develops innovative technologies and algorithms for wireless perception, networking, and sensing with a focus on biomedical sensing, autonomous systems, and subsea internet-of-things.

After graduating with the highest GPA on AUB’s record in 2011, Adib received a fellowship to pursue his graduate studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. He received his Master’s (2013) and PhD degrees (2016) from MIT, earning the best Master’s and best doctoral dissertation awards in Computer Science from MIT. His PhD thesis also won the SIGMOBILE dissertation award (2018), honoring it as the world’s best doctoral dissertation in wireless networks and mobile computing.

Professor Adib has been named to Technology Review’s list of the world's top 35 innovators under 35 in 2014 and to Forbes’ list of 30 under 30 in 2015. His inventions have been repeatedly featured in major media outlets including the BBC, CNN, Le Figaro, Der Spiegel, The Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian. His research on seeing through walls has been named as one of the 50 ways MIT has transformed computer science over the past 50 years. His honors also include faculty awards from Sony (2016) and Google (2017), the AUB Distinguished Young Alumnus Award (2017), the National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2019), and the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award (2019).

Professor Adib has had the honor to demo his research to President Obama at the White House (2015) and in the UK House of Lords (2015). Currently, his research is being commercialized by a startup called Emerald Innovations, and his devices are being used by doctors at major US hospitals to monitor patients with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson's, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Dr. Tarek Fadel is the Assistant Director of the Marble Center for Cancer Nanomedicine at the MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. Before joining MIT, Dr. Fadel was a Staff Scientist at the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO), the coordinating body for the U.S. National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). During his time at NNCO, he served as the Executive Secretary for the Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology (NSET) Subcommittee of the White House’s National Science and Technology Council's Committee on Technology. The NSET Subcommittee coordinates planning, budgeting, program implementation, and review of the NNI.

Dr. Fadel received his PhD from Yale University in 2011, where he continued as a post-doctoral researcher to develop nanoscale platforms for cancer immunotherapy. As an Advanced Graduate Leadership Fellow, Tarek completed two years of MBA coursework at the Yale School of Management and received the Harding Bliss Prize for his contributions in furthering the university’s intellectual life. He previously held positions as Vice President for Research at the International Technology Research Institute, and Product and Systems Interaction Engineer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Dr. Fadel is lead author of several peer-reviewed publications in the fields of nanomedicine, cancer immunotherapy, and biophysics.
